Several minutes later they arrived at the big old tree. Caity was relieved to see them. “Up here Mom…I'm stuck…please get me down…I'm cold and hungry”. “Alright sweetheart, stay calm. I'm going back to get the ladder. I'll be right back.”

She dashed off and Kitty waited by the tree to keep her friend company. Ever since the day Caity rescued her, she promised herself that she would do something nice for Caity some day too. And this was the day! This was karma in action. Caity had saved her from going to the animal shelter and now she had helped to rescue her friend. She felt all warm and tingly inside. It felt so good to help.

Moments later, Caity's mother returned with a large step ladder. She climbed up the tree and unhooked Caity's foot from the branch. Everyone was so relieved. Caity wrapped her little arms around her mom's neck and slowly climbed down the ladder to safety. She was happy to be back on the ground again.
